Project Summary:

The Evidence Mapping, Systematic Review, and Impact Evaluation (EMSRIE) activity supports the United States Agency for International Development's (USAID) Bureau for Resilience, Environment, and Food Security (REFS) and buy-in clients across the agency with systematic reviews, evidence gap maps, and impact evaluations (IEs). USAID engaged Management Systems International (MSI), a Tetra Tech company, to implement EMSRIE in partnership with a major subcontractor the International Initiative for Impact Evaluations (3IEs). The contract's five-year period of performance is from September 14, 2023, to September 13, 2028.

Position Summary:

The Knowledge Management (KM) Expert will serve as a key personnel member along with the Chief of Party and Principal Investigator.  The KM Expert will be responsible for supporting EMSRIE research with decision support services that facilitate the use of evidence in decision-making at the policy, program, and activity levels, whether for design or adaptive management purposes.  The KM Expert will lead the design and implementation of engagement strategies for specific evidence products that use knowledge translation in CLA-driven technical assistance. This is needed to ensure that evidence is fit for purpose and used. This will include facilitating the measurement of evidence use, identifying barriers and enablers to evidence use, and developing lessons learned for the larger community of interest. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of knowledge products (e.g., learning briefs, case studies, and other technical products) and creation of data-driven visualizations (e.g., infographics, story maps) for internal and external audiences.
  • Curate, prepare, and disseminate activity-related information, learning, research findings, and sector trends through news digests, programming and policy summaries, literature reviews.
  • Manage and facilitate internal and external knowledge sharing events such as seminars, webinars, online discussions, or in-person events, as needed.
  • Oversee creation of interactive web-based features, dashboards, and databases, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Knowledge Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Organization Learning, etc.) required.
  • Minimum five years of experience leading on similar activities required.
  • Experience in drafting USAID reports and deliverables.
  • Experience in designing and facilitating workshops and other learning events.
  • Experience with USAID CLA practices.
  • Experience with USAID Feed the Future policy and/or programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of the knowledge/evidence translation processes and experience in applying them within the USAID program cycle.
  • Understanding of knowledge/evidence translation models and practices.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Pay Transparency Statement:

We are committed to taking a thoughtful, compliant and equitable approach to employment compensation. We commit to providing a holistic comprehensive salary analysis, including reviews of individual skill sets and compensable factors related to qualifications, business needs, internal compensation data, and industry and labor market surveys. The anticipated daily pay rate for this position is $400 to $525 USD.
