We are currently accepting applications for the position of Junior Civil/Transportation Design Technologist to work on a hybrid basis from our Tetra Tech Edmonton office. You will have the opportunity to join the Northern & Pacific Transportation Group; a growing group with a strong work base of projects, both short and long term. In support of our expanding services and market area, we are seeking an energetic individual to play a vital role in the growth of our organization. The position will involve working on a diverse selection of transportation related projects throughout British Columbia, Alberta, and the Arctic. The successful candidate will provide transportation services related to CADD, planning, assessments, design, site inspection, contract administration services, and project management.

 Responsibilities: 

• Supporting projects through planning, design, procurement, and construction work for roadway, municipal, structural and airport related infrastructure assignments.
• Prepare design drawings and report figures for functional, preliminary and detail designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Willingness to travel to support construction projects and field investigations in the mountain parks and Arctic.
• Assist with preparing reports and business proposals.
• Working both independently and as part of a team to successfully complete client projects.
• Building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients.
• Work with other project team members to administer roadway construction projects.
• Apply project management principals and corporate best practices to achieve project quality, schedule and budget objectives.
• Interpret survey information to support preliminary engineering designs, quantity calculations and as-built constructed drawings.

 Qualifications: 

• Completion of Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from a recognized technical school or several years of practical experience.
• Recent grad to 3 years of work experience.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Previous experience applying highway engineering design standards in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software would be an asset.
• Willingness to learn and apply effectively civil engineering principals and interpret detailed design drawings.
• Possess the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
• Field inspection or survey experience would be considered a strong asset.
• Registration with ASTTBC, ASET or similar is preferred.

Additional Information:

 A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship (a copy of a valid work permit may be required).

To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions.
