Role Title: Graduate Geo-Environmental Consultant
Start Date: September 2025

We operate a highly successful geo-environmental team of c. 100 professionals. We operate nationally and manage several high-profile groundwater frameworks and contracts including the Northern Irish Private Water Supply Framework, Northern Ireland Water Consultancy Framework and Environment Agency National Borehole Decommissioning Project.

Tetra Tech recently established an office in Wexford, Ireland and due to this recent expansion alongside securing several long term projects we have an opportunity for an ambitious graduate geo-environmental consultant to join us. The successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting time in our growth and development as a business and will get the opportunity to work on diverse and interesting portfolio of projects


Job Description:


The successful candidate will help us manage several Key Client Accounts and will be enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated, with strong commercial and technical skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. Within this role there will be an opportunity to further develop your project management and leadership skills in a fast growing and dynamic consultancy environment. On the job training will be provided.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in providing professional advice in respect of the feasibility, ground investigation, testing, procurement and implementation of innovative solutions.
The successful candidate will become a member of this busy team delivering focused solutions for our growing key client base, with emphasis on technical excellence, client care and effective project management.  
 
He or she will be working alongside other land contamination, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater and geo-technical specialists to deliver holistic solutions to clients' needs in these areas.  Additionally, the successful candidate will be collaborating with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with other specialists in the planning, environment and engineering teams.  
 
Key attributes required for the position are sound technical knowledge, enthusiasm, self-motivation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. We anticipate the role will require approximately 50% of your time will be site based and 50% will be office based, but this may vary as workload dictates.

Qualifications/skills required: 

The relevant person must hold a degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology or relevant environmental science discipline. Whilst not essential, it would be beneficial for you to have a post graduate qualification such as a Master's degree.  Whilst we will consider graduates for this role the ideal candidate will ideally have some relevant experience. You should also be working towards Chartership with a relevant body, such as CIWEM IEMA or Geo Soc, however if not we have an accredited chartership scheme that the candidate can join.
 
An understanding of current contaminated land technical guidance, Part 2A legislation and the development planning regime.

  • Whilst not essential at this level, it would be desirable if you have experience in, managing and supervising ground investigations on site, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring and have the skills and knowledge to interpret data. Any specific site works accreditations/qualifications held will be an advantage (e.g. Safe Pass etc).
  • Knowledgeable in current practice and governing standards/guidance for the investigation and remediation of contaminated land.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill and be fully IT literate as you will be required to write clear, concise and technically robust reports.
  • A good understanding of health, safety and environmental management.
  • A full, preferably clean, driving license.
  • You will be required to undertake site work outside normal working hours and working away from home will be required for short periods from time to time.
  • You will be a team player with strong social, interpersonal and communication skills.
