 This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on and to reside in or near Merced CA.

Responsibilities: 
•    Perform environmental inspection of construction activities.
•    Coordinate and perform environmental soil and water sampling.
•    Organize documentation.
•    Effectively communicate field activities with the Project Manager and subcontractors.
•    Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations. 
•    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:  
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. •    Strong oral and written communication/interpersonal skills are a must.
•    Legible handwriting and attention to detail on paperwork is required.
•    Computer skills must include Microsoft Word and Excel.  ArcGIS is a plus.
•    Candidate must be able and available to travel throughout California >50% of the time.
•    Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
•    40-hour HAZWOPER certification with current 8-hour refresher is preferred.

Education & Experience:  
•    High school diploma or equivalent is required.  AA or bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field is a plus.
•    One to three years of experience as an environmental field technician or related experience is required.

•    This position may require walking and standing for extended periods of time.
•    Heavy lifting may be required.
•    At times, fieldwork may require walking in rugged terrain.

•    This position requires travel throughout Central California, occasionally with short notice.
•    Fieldwork may be required in remote areas and in rugged terrain. 

The hourly range is $28-$32 per hour.
