Summary:
At Tetra Tech, we offer a range of training and development opportunities while working on innovative projects across diverse market sectors. We are continually seeking skilled individuals for our entry level Civil and Geotechnical Engineering positions, working within 50 miles of one of our local offices.
Entry level Civil / Geotechnical Engineers will work closely with engineers, scientist, and project managers on a variety of projects that can include remediation, waste, renewable energy, geohazards, mining, civil construction, oil and gas, and more.
Your Role:
- This position will have field and non-field related responsibilities. Field work and travel may include occasional nights and weekends.
- Support project coordination and field oversight.
- Conduct analyses and report preparation.
- Collection of environmental samples, operation of field equipment, data entry and analysis, document review, environmental assessments, site inspections, etc.
- Preparation of data for input into technical reports, data tables, charts, and figures.
- Provide project support for a wide variety of projects for municipal, commercial, and industrial clients. Apply knowledge gained in previous assignments to subsequent projects and assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or closely related field.
- 0 – 4 years of technical experience related to environmental services / consulting, commercial and industrial business, geotechnical-related engineering, data collection and design, site characterization, remedial action implementation, etc.
- A good understanding of environmental services including investigations, data collection and design, environmental assessments, and sampling methods is preferred.
- Familiarity with lab testing and construction materials testing.
- Ability to take thorough notes and preparation of data reports.
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts and principles.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with database development and management, and CAD or GIS is desirable.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and MSHA certification preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- Ability to travel and perform field work (75% or more of field work required).
- Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target salary range: $59,000 to $80,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
