In Ukraine, Tetra Tech implements the Energy Security Project (ESP), a seven-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The largest USAID project in Ukraine to date, ESP aims to enhance energy security, improve the legal and regulatory environment in the energy sector, and increase the resilience of Ukraine's energy supply to support the country's economic development and sustain its democracy. Tetra Tech is working closely with the Government of Ukraine to develop competitive energy markets and facilitate private sector-led energy investments to provide affordable, reliable, resilient, and secure energy for all Ukrainians. This project is expected to run through June 2025.

Tetra Tech has an opportunity for a Database Specialist to join our team in Kyiv. This position involves managing the Procurement Registry and Infrastructure Supply Management database. Responsibilities include manual data entry, administrative support, database administration, data accuracy verification, data cleaning, and reporting. The role requires a basic understanding of database structures and preferably, experience with SQL and Python. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in both Ukrainian and English are essential. This position is critical in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our procurement and infrastructure databases, supporting the operational efficiency and process digitization within our organization. This is a short-term consultancy position for the period of 6 months working not more than 35 hours per week, with the possibility of an extension for another term, until the completion of the ESP project foreseen at the end of June 2025. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and update data in the Procurement Registry and Infrastructure Supply Management database.
  • Provide administrative support related to database management.
  • Assist in maintaining the database, ensuring its proper functionality and performance.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Verify the accuracy of data entries and ensure data integrity.
  • Perform regular data cleaning to eliminate redundant or erroneous data.
  • Identify and report bugs or issues in the database.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to resolve database-related problems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth database operations.
  • Assist in supporting other team members on database-related tasks.

Minimum qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with database management principles and practices.
  • Language Proficiency: Working proficiency in both Ukrainian and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues. 

Preferred qualifications and Location

  • Basic knowledge of SQL and Python.
