Description

Tetra Tech is one of the Ministry of Defence's leading suppliers of professional services and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join the team. You will be joining an established team to manage projects, work closely with our client, stakeholders and colleagues from other Tetra Tech disciplines. 

You will be an experienced Project Manager operating at Associate Director level, from an appropriate professional background. You will have a proven track record in management of defence infrastructure projects. You will be collaborative and able to build solid and lasting business relationships.

The role

We are seeking a high performing Associate Director who can demonstrate a flexible management skillset:
 

  • A leader with the ability to  deliver successful outcomes
  • A collaborative team manager who will work with the whole project team to develop objectives and agree ways of working
  • Experienced in managing NEC 3/4 contracts ensuring compliance with the terms of the contract including management of change control
  • Monitor progress against the schedule managing resources against the baseline and identify variances that require action
  • Monitor financial performance throughout the project and prepare reports for stakeholders
  • responsibility for Risk Management and developing mitigation plans
  • Manages the consistent application of quality assurance processes and standards
  • Able to establish and maintain governance structures that define clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for governance
  • Develop and disseminate a stakeholder management and communications plan to meet the objectives of the project.
  • Establish and manage review points, which will inform governance and provide evaluations of progress.

 About you

  • Experience working on defence infrastructure projects
  • PMQ Accredited preferably
  • NEC 3/4 accredited preferably
  • SC preferable, but suitability for security clearance if not currently cleared
  • Past experience of managing multiple projects
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to manage meetings with senior client representatives
  • A collaborative approach including managing large technical teams
  • Proven ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Able to identify and develop a phased approach to delivery, working collaboratively with the client to understand and agree the project requirements
  • Team player, able to deliver multiple projects to tight deadlines and to form effective relationships.
  • Good practical application of Microsoft Software, including Project, Excel and Word
  • Ability to prepare and implement a range of project tools including programmes, risk registers, Stakeholder Management Plans, Project Execution Plans and Quality Assurance Plans
  • Professional and ethical in everything that you do
  • Driving licence preferable
