Tetra Tech's Critical Buildings and Infrastructure OU is seeking an Assistant Project Manager. The selected individual will play a crucial role in defining and performing project tasks in a cost-effective and time efficient manner in a collaborative team environment, contributing significantly to our mission and success.
As our new Assistant Project Manager, we invite you to bring your experience and education into play as you assist the Project Manager or Project Managers in managing the life cycle of fast-paced Architecture and Engineering Procurement projects in the federal contractor and commercial functions. This role also offers you the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge, paving the way for your future as a Project Manager.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Assist the Project Manager in all phases and aspects of the project(s).
- Lead review of technical progress against scope, schedule, and project budget.
- Collaborate and facilitate the activities of Project Managers and other members of project teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Prepare project tools, including work breakdown structures, risk registers, requests for information, issues registers, and decision logs.
- Assist in tracking budget delivery, scheduling, change orders, and purchase agreements.
- Manage various forms of project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, project meeting minutes, contractual obligations, and deliverables.
- Interact with contract administration and legal teams to ensure agreements and other documents are thoroughly reviewed, and any comments are adjudicated with the PM team and the client for execution.
- Support project change control management.
- Follow and champion internal governance requirements, including compliance needs, code of conflicts of interest, insider trading, discrimination, harassment, and business essentials fundamentally linked to strategy: risks to strategy, strategy to purpose, and rewards.
- Support the preparation of governance documents, including Project Execution Plans, Quality Assurance Plans, Stakeholder Management Plans, and Risk Management Plans.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with one + year, (or a degree from a technical college and two+ years) of relevant design or construction industry experience.
- Required degree in business management, construction management, engineering or architecture.
- Can effectively communicate complex ideas and have the ability and enthusiasm to execute projects successfully.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Disciplined, initiative-taking, and result-driven collaborator who is a confident communicator who can support a diverse team of individuals.
- Adaptability to continually changing priorities and varying project requirements.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record without any restrictions.
- Ability to travel to client offices and project sites as required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on Federal design project teams.
This role can be performed from a wide range of locations throughout the US. The pay range for this position is between $65,000 - $85,000; however, base pay offered may vary depending on primary work location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal parity.
