Your Role

Tetra Tech Inc. is seeking part-time scientists, biologists, geologist, engineers, and technicians with any experience providing hazardous material abatement oversight and air monitoring activities in the Brooklyn, NY area.

Qualified candidates will work on-site in support of long-term asbestos abatement oversight and monitoring requirements.     

Daily travel to/from the candidate home to the Brooklyn, NY location will be required.

Qualifications

Candidates should have experience working with air sampling equipment and media. Specific expeirence with overseeing and monitoring asbestos abatement project projects is preferred. 

Candidates should also be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. 

Degree / Certifications

B.A/B.S. in environmental science, environmental health, or biology is preferred, but not required. 

A NYC DEP Asbestos Project Monitor certification is required for this position. Training will be offered to qualified candidiates.

Work Environment

This position is 100% in the field. 

Work will consist of working 5-6 days a week, including occasional weekends and evenings, 10 – 12 hour days and will average 50 – 60 hours per week.

Candidates are expected to work outside in all weather conditions and seasons, both hot and cold.   

Physical Demands

Candidates should be able to lift and carry field sampling and other equipment (roughly 35lbs. worth), and meet the physical demands of hazardous waste site work.

Tetra Tech offers a basic core medical plan and our 401k retirement plan for this position. 

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $22.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
