Position Summary:

Segue Technologies Inc seeks a Secret cleared Application Support Specialist/Systems Administrator to work on-site at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA. Telework is available after approval on a part time basis.

The Application Support Specialist will be responsible for working on site with the customer and assist with technical support for the Air Force manpower suite of web enabled database applications in the Pentagon enterprise environment. This position performs a variety of Help desk & Application technical support duties using Agile & DevSecOps best practices. The position will also assist the System Administrator to ensure the system and software stack are maintained.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helpdesk support to include supporting custom Air Force applications using Agile and JIRA tickets.
  • Providing superior customer service and satisfaction through responsive user and application support.
  • Provide proactive preventative and corrective systems maintenance to consistently meet system availability customer service targets.
  • Provide technical support for host, application, and database trouble shooting, root cause analysis, and close coordination with the Development team for application issues.
  • Tracking Incidents and Service Requests using Atlassian JIRA and maintaining knowledge base with Confluence Wiki knowledge base documenting resolutions.
  • Support of Business Objects and/or Power Bi reporting tools utilized by the Air Force manpower community.
  • Responding to service outages, tracking system availability, and proactive monitoring to prevent unnecessary down time.
  • On site customer support during normal business hours
  • Additional tasks as required
  • Assist Sys Admin & Security Analyst with:
    • Analyzing system logs for host platforms, SQL database, and application error logs to identify and trouble shoot performance or reliability issues.
    • Verify backup integrity by running routine tests across system
    • Review Backup & System logs
    • Application, database, and host server monitoring for multiple Windows Server instances and SQL Server database
    • Maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts to ensure they reflect current security posture as changes to the system are made
    • Performing Restart and Recovery Procedures
    • Monitoring Systems Interfaces

Required Skills:

  • 2 - 4 years of technical work experience of which at least 2 years of experience providing Windows Server and web enabled application support with at least 2 years as Helpdesk support for a large-scale application
  • Willingness and desire to learn in a technical role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong client-facing skills with a customer service orientation and commitment to quality
  • Must be able to obtain IAT Level II Certification required (CompTIA Security+, GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA-Security)
  • Active Secret clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT Systems, Engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Experience administering web enabled database applications
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, and application hosting .Net, Cold Fusion
  • Experience administering enterprise applications in both on premise Virtual Machines and Cloud hosting environments (AWS or Azure)
  • Experience administering Business Objects instances and report authoring, user support (Business Objects and/or Power BI)
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework and system security, implementing vulnerability remediation
  • Experience supporting the Air Force or other DoD customer
  • Prior experience in a collaborative Agile or DevSecOps organization focused on user experience
  • Active CompTIA certification is preferred
