The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded Tetra Tech the Sustainable Energy for Indonesia's Advancing Resilience (SINAR) project, which launched in January 2021 and runs through January 2026. SINAR seeks to advance Indonesia's development goals by expanding reliable and equitable energy services necessary for sustainable and inclusive economic growth. To achieve its objectives and contribute to Indonesia's Sustainable Development Goals and 2020-2024 National Medium Term Development Plan, SINAR focuses on 1) Accelerating deployment of advanced energy technologies, 2) Improving performance of energy utilities, 3) Applying procurement best practices, and 4) Establishing an institutional framework and capacity for energy sector transformation.

Position summary & job purpose: 


Tetra Tech has an opportunity for an Advanced Energy System Project Junior Analyst Provide technical and managerial support to Director of Advanced Energy Systems (AES) directly and support Objective 1 team members as per direction of Director of AES. Learn more about the SINAR project here.

 Position responsibilities:

•Support Director of AES in communicating Objective 1 team activities and program with Objective 1 team members and ensuring that everyone is working towards the same goals in the implementation of specific interventions / project activities / collaboration activities.
•Support Director of AES in communicating Objective 1 team and program with relevant stakeholders and ensuring that the relevant stakeholder is working towards the same goals in the implementation of specific interventions / project activities / collaboration activities.
•Support Director of AES and Objective 1 team members in preparing BAST report for deliverables to Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), Bappenas, PLN, Banks, Financial Institutions, Project Developers, and other key collaborated stakeholders
•Support Director of AES in preparing the Quarterly reports and Annual Report.
•Develop regular weekly reports on progress, challenges, commitments/promises, and other important notes on various activities in Objective 1 team and report it directly to the Director of AES by collecting the information from different Objective team 1 members.
•Provide support to Objective 1 team in working within existing Tetra Tech Management Information System for SINAR program and report it directly to the Director of AES.
•Provide support to Objective 1 team in various ongoing activities as well as coordination with various counterparts and subcontractors and report it directly to the Director of AES.

•Coordinate with Director of AES, Objective 1 team members, specialists and/or subcontractors in making meeting appointments and schedules with key counterparts as well as in conducting specific events such as training, seminar/webinar, FGD, etc.
•Maintain relationship and networking with key counterparts such as MEMR, Bappenas, PLN, project developers, banks/financial institutions, and relevant associations, and coordinating with Utility Director of AES and Objective 1 team members.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical or similar discipline with demonstrated subject matter of expertise.
  • Proven abilities and experience with business development, coordination with technical professionals with diverse expertise, and counterpart relationship management.
  • Familiarity in coordinating multi-disciplinary activities with key counterparts such as MEMR, Bappenas, PLN, and others.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously at various stages of development and could travel to the site project/remote area.
  • Familiarity with advanced energy systems such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy conservation technology.
  • Familiarity with climate change and GHG emissions reduction programs.
  • Proven abilities to represent company at networking events to build brand in this market area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Indonesian national or current resident of Indonesia.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (reading, writing, and oral presentation).
  • Familiarity with current Indonesian government regulations and incentives in renewable energy, advanced energy systems, and utility planning, procurement, and operations.
  • Familiarity to work with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), PLN, Bappenas, project and with developers, banks/financial institutions, GOI, provincial government, and PLN officials, developers, banks/financial institutions, and research and development and industry organizations.
  • Familiarity with USAID procedures and practices for quality control, including monitoring.
