Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Project Controls Specialist.

 

Position Description: The Finance Specialist / Project Controls Specialist (Specialist) has dual reporting lines to the Controller and to the Senior Project Controls Analyst (SPCA). Day-to-day supervision will primarily be performed by the SPCA as 60% of position responsibilities will be dedicated to working as a member of the Project Controls Department assisting home and field office project staff to use project accounting and finance data to evaluate project schedule and budget and revise program plans as needed. The Specialist does not travel to project locations but is an excellent opportunity to utilize accounting and finance skills to help USAID assistance projects around the world improve their impact. In addition to assisting the Project Controls Department, the Specialist will support the Controller with analyzing various financial metrics and preparing a variety of ad hoc reports.

 

The position can be fully remote from a continental US-based location or hybrid within a commutable distance to either one of our office locations in Winooski, VT or Arlington, VA. 

Responsibilities:

* Assist with preparation of key month-end financial reports submitted to senior management, month end close and preparation of the corporate reporting package, and the financial close out of projects.

* Prepare annual indirect rate adjustments as well as various ad hoc reports and analyses as requested; provide backup coverage as needed to the Senior Budget Analyst.

* Assist with various expenditure reviews and reconciliations, including, but not limited, to revenue adjustments, Defense Base Act (DBA) Insurance, IT cost allocations, and project disbursement voucher (DV) reviews.

* Perform financial data quality assurance and reporting; ensure that project financial information is captured and reported accurately and updated consistently; serve as a resource to project management and field finance team for maintaining project management data.

* Assist SPCA/to maintain Project Workbooks, QuickBooks Sites with requisite project management parameters including, but not limited to tracking for Grant/Subcontract and other major cost commitments, CCN Employees, and Field Vendors.

* Assist project teams to conduct data quality reviews; assist Accounting and Finance team to prepare and manage key client reports submitted with invoices; assist with the Project Evaluations and Estimate at Completion (PEEAC) process.

* Assist with training/orientation of the project management team to financial management, corporate systems and resources; assist in development of training materials, guides, and other support materials.

* Ensure accurate coding of costs against budget commitments on a life of project timeline, track total open cost obligations and incorporate into project planning and adjustments, and assist project teams to minimize cost coding errors; ensure implementation plans are consistently reconciled with the project budget and budget realignment requests are developed from the life of project plan.

* Under direction of SPCA, manage Key Member roles and assignments to ensure consistency for Dashboard, PEEAC and Salesforce parameters.

* Prepare periodic reports and analyses requested by the Director/SPCA or project management teams to inform project status monitoring and decision making.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

* Minimum bachelor's degree in business, accounting, data science, or a similar field.

* Ability to work under tight deadlines and to cooperate effectively in a team environment.

* High level of reliability and follow-through.

* Strong MS Office, particularly MS Excel competency required, with a focus on data management and reporting preferred.

* Strong interpersonal skills for positive collaboration with project teams and colleagues is required. Able to interface effectively with project management teams, IT/IKMS, the accounting team, and corporate operations remotely is required.

* Current US work authorization is required at the time of application.
