Certification Details
• BLS - must be AHA (Required)

• CFA - Certified First Assistant (Preferred)

Job Details
• Looking for experienced and highly skilled RNFA with strong background in Cardiovascular Surgery and Heart and Lung Transplantation. Must have excellent endoscopic vessel harvesting expertise.
• Performs role of surgical assistant for a variety of surgical procedures under direct supervision of attending surgeon.
• Performs role of circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse when required.
• Assesses patient status, maintains a save care environment, manages equipment use and delegates/directs care provided by Surgical Technologists and other support personnel.
• Collaborate with the cardiovascular surgery team to provide high-quality patient care
• Assist in a variety of cardiovascular surgical procedures, including CABG, Aortic Reconstruction, complex valve surgery, Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy, Ross Procedure, ECMO, vascular access, sternal closure, etc.
• Uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and clinical excellence

Job Requirements
• Bachelors Degree: Nursing (Required)
• Graduate of accredited school of Nursing; successful completion of additional educational preparation specific to the role of RNFA including supervised clinical component (Required)
• Three (3) years experience in Cardiovascular Surgery and Heart/Lung Transplantation (Required)
• General Experience demonstrating skills in intraoperative nursing behaviors - handling tissue, using instruments, providing exposure, providing hemostasis (Required)
• CNOR - Certified Nurse Operating Room (Required)
• RN-LIC - Registered Nurse License (Required)

Schedule Information
• Monday - Friday, 7a-3:30p
• Call requirement - Every 3rd weekend call rotation (Friday 1530 to Monday 0700), weeknight call TBD
