POSITION PURPOSE

The Cellular Connection (TCC) is looking for a fulltime resource who has solid experience in Quality Assurance testing in the area of Business Intelligence and Power BI. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining testing processes for ETL workflows and Cube metrics, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data transformations, and validating Power BI reports and visualizations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional team s to drive testing best practices, enhance overall testing efficiency, and ensure the high-quality delivery of data driven insights.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Establish QA processes, test cases, and documentation
• Collaborate with business analysts to understand requirements, ensuring requirements include data quality components
• Ensure that business requirements are mapped to test cases
• Define and implement an overall automation strategy for testing ETL, Cube, and Power BI Reporting
• Develop and execute automated test scripts to validate accuracy, completeness, and performance
• Identify and determine data for testing
• Create comprehensive reusable, maintainable test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL process, Cube model, and Power BI report
• Create and maintain a reusable test script library
• Execute test scripts, analyze results, and collaborate with BI team to address any identified issues
• Ensure that software meets both functional and non-functional requirements and fulfills the acceptance criteria
• Perform functional, smoke, UI, regression, and system integration testing
• Participate actively in Agile / scrum ceremonies, providing insights into testing efforts and coordinating with the development team
• Generate and maintain documentation on ETL, Cube, and Power BI test results, test coverage, and automation
• Conduct Data profiling to ensure validity of test cases
• Participate in UAT and Production support
• Participate as part of a weekend rotation schedule for support of production loads
• Routinely analyze data across data lineage, from source to stage to target to reports
• Provide estimation of BI testing deliverables to management, highlighting risks and ensuring software is delivered as per Project plan
• Lead efforts in performing POC/research for new tools, making recommendations for automation testing of ETL and Power BI
• Identify and implement continual improvement initiatives to help improve overall quality
• Maintain Business Glossary and Data Dictionary, including classification levels for Data Sensitivity and Data Quality for each metric.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Skills and Competencies.  

• Strong working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
• Ability to analyze testing requirements and design test cases for integrations,

        functional performance, regression, and user acceptance

• Ability to clearly present and communicate test plans and results
• Familiar with data warehousing concepts and BI solutions
• Proficiency in SQL for querying databases and validating data
• Familiarity with BI Tools – Power BI, ADF, SSAS, etc
• Experience with Python, R for data manipulation
• Proven ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, with all areas at TCC.
• Excellent communication skills are important – both written and spoken.   
• Ability to work on a team as well as independently, multi-task, and manage time and priorities to meet deadlines.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and working experience in an Agile environment  

• Innovative mindset: ability to think both creatively and critically 
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex datasets and identify discrepancies.
• Able to evaluate priorities and manage work to critical project timelines in fast-paced environment. 

• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in high-pressure environment 
• Research and troubleshoot issues and questions related to deployed solutions 
• Maintain knowledge of the latest testing technology and best practices
• Experience working in agile or collaborative environments 
• Good attention to detail

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.), in fields like Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field or 5 years of the equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE

• 3 years of experience with Business Intelligence solutions, preferably working with Microsoft technologies
• 3 years of experience writing system test cases/scripts, executing test scripts
• Working experience with Agile methodology
• Experience with Data Warehousing concepts
• Experience with Retail data preferred
