Title:Medical Technologist
Location: St Petersburg, FL
FT/ Evening Shift 5 days per week 2:30- 11P (rotating weekends)

Compensation:

  • On-Call Pay: $2/hr
  • Night Differential Pay: $2.50/hr
MUST HAVE recent blood bank experience

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical or reference lab setting is preferred but NEW GRADUATES are welcome to apply.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our hospital-based team in St Petersburg, FL. Our team values patient care and is committed to providing high-quality results. We welcome a talented and passionate addition like you who shares our dedication to the patient experience.

Qualifications:

  • A State of Florida Medical Technologist License is required.
  • Generalist license (all areas) is required but we will consider applicants licensed in 3 or more of the following areas:
  • Blood bank
  • Serology
  • Chemistry
  • Hematology
  • Microbiology

  • Responsibilities:

    • Conduct accurate and timely laboratory testing, following instructions and meeting established time frames
    • Assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor
    • Maintain complete and accurate records/documentation related to patient results
    • Perform urgent procedures within specified turnaround time targets
    • Demonstrate critical thinking skills in the correlation and interpretation of patient results, including performing delta checks
    • Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief
    • Take appropriate corrective action when patient, quality control, standard, calibration, and proficiency results deviate from established guidelines

    Education:

    • Associate's Degree/ Bachelors is required.
    • A 4 yr Bachelors Degree in Med technology is preferred.
