About the position Position / Specialty: MS Surgical Oncology Shift: Will work 3x12 hour nights, 7p-730a 36hrs/wk Ratios: 1:5 Weekend REQ: EOW Is on-call REQ? (Y/N): N/A Will this traveler need to float within scope to meet facility needs/float between like units/sister facilities? Yes Required/Preferred Years of experience REQ: 1 year Experience preferred: oncology experience First-timers accepted: yes License REQ: SC or Multi State/Compact RN license Certs REQ BLS. Trauma Level REQ: N/A Miscellaneous Open to accommodating block schedule? (Y/N): Requires managers approval upon request. Dependent on unit's needs Local Radius: 60 miles Locals Accepted: Yes, on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than the posted bill rate RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be included at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility needs Guaranteed Hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. Hospital Highlights Type of Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital Total Staffed Beds: 820 Scrub Color: All RNs - Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal blue bottoms. Charting: EPIC Parking Cost: Parking management office (located 91presidents street) to obtain parking permit. $20 registration fee for a hang tag which will allow use of the garage. No additional fees. Hang tag will not cover parking in any other locations. If parking outside of the 91 Street Parking Garage, additional fees may be incurred. 7 West MedSurg & Surgical Oncology is a high acuity 24 bed adult inpatient unit specializing in gynecology oncology, head/neck oncology and head/neck benign patients. 7 West also provides care for a variety of other medical/surgical patient populations including but not limited to management of behavioral, respiratory, endocrine, GI, and trauma patients. The unit manages patients receiving inpatient chemotherapy, radiation, leech therapy, total parenteral nutrition and enteral nutrition. This unit cares for complex microvascular head and neck flap patients which includes complex wound management, tracheostomy and laryngectomy patient care. The unit also manages palliative and hospice patient populations at varying stages of their disease progression to include aggressive pain management.
