We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations and drive process improvements in line with our values.

 

Role Overview:

The Payroll Manager will oversee the end-to-end payroll function for 2,000+ employees across multiple states. This leader will ensure accuracy, compliance with laws and regulations, and continuous process improvements. You will lead a team of payroll specialists, provide strategic direction, and collaborate with HR, accounting, and the benefits team. Experience with UKG (UltiPro), Cognos and Workday is highly preferred.   Key Responsibilities: · Lead the payroll team in processing weekly and off-cycle payroll for 2,000+ employees across multiple states. Able to run the full payroll process when needed. · Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including wage and hour laws. · Manage payroll audits, garnishments, wage attachments, company vehicle mileage reporting and year-end processing (W-2, tax reporting). Develop and manage time off processes. · Oversee new hires, terminations, and payroll adjustments to ensure timely and accurate processing. · Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize efficiency. · Collaborate with HR, accounting, and benefits team to align payroll processes with overall business objectives. · Project manage potential payroll system implementations. · Mentor and train payroll staff, providing leadership and development opportunities.   What You Bring: · Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field preferred. · 7+ years of multi-state payroll experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role. · Strong expertise in UKG (UltiPro), Cognos, Workday and Advanced Excel. · In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements, including experience with California payroll. · Proven leadership and people management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. · Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. · CCP or CPP certification preferred       Sunstate Equipment Co. is an Equal Opportunity Employer A Drug Free Workplace and Participates in E-Verify
