Summit Medical Staffing Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Huron, South Dakota.

+ $500 Travel Position Description: 1.General job duties. Types of procedures required. Adult and Peds ER patients- Level 4 Trauma, Vents, IO, assist with chest tubes, central lines. Will work in ICU and Medsurg as well. 2.Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) CPSI e-form charting, Mindray Vital Sign Monitors, Level 1 Fluid Warmer, Omnicell 3.Required skills and minimum years of experience. Previous ER Experience- 5 year Good assessment, documentation and critical thinking skills- Ability to triage and prioritize Must also have ICU and Medsurg experience as floating will be required; 6 bed ICU 4.Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) TNCC, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, NIH Stroke Scale, BLS SD or compact nursing license 5.Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) Should be able to take care of patients independently- stroke, MI , trauma, code blue etc. Every third weekend and holiday 12 hour shifts ( 7 pm- 0730 am) some 8 hour shifts ( 530 pm- 02am) May also be asked to work some day shifts ( 8 or 12 hours) 6.Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) Float to ICU and Medsurg as needed 7.Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 6 Bed ER, 6 Bed Outpatient Treatment 6 bed ICU 8.Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) Dependent on volume- Staff 1-2 RN s at a time with house wide supervisor as back up and code team response ICU nurse to patient ratio: 1:2 9. Dress Code: uniforms any color, closed toe shoes, socks 10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. ER is staffed with PA or NP with physicians on call- average daily census is 17 ( less during week and more on weekend) busier during flu season Comments: Guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation Name of Position Requirements - Does the Candidate have any time off requests? If so, please disclose - 3-5 years of experience in ER required. - 1 year of ICU experience required. - BLS - American Heart? List exp in comments - ACLS - AHA? List exp in comments - PALS? List exp in comments - TNCC Certified? - NIHSS? (can obtain prior to start if not currently certified) - Able to float to Med/Surg? - Willing to work a mix of 8's and 12's? - Is this candidate a 1099? - SD or compact nursing license - Last 4 of Social Security Required - Middle Initial Required
