Description
The Venture Credit Analyst plays an integral part of leading portfolio level analytics and reporting and will work directly with senior leaders on origination, underwriting, and portfolio management. This role intertwines an understanding of accounting and financial principals with a Credit Analyst's desire to learn about sector and economic trends impacting the technology companies we work alongside. In joining our San Francisco team, the Credit Analyst's role will focus heavily on understanding and contributing within active debt processes – structuring, underwriting, and presenting to our credit team. Over time the Credit Analyst will have the opportunity to lead relationship management with portfolio companies and on new deal origination. The position has an anticipated start date of summer 2025.
What We're Looking For
- Involved in portfolio level analytics and reporting, including pipelines, portfolio tracking, board material development, and special projects with Group leads.
- Focused on learning about various forms of debt and their applicability to businesses based on each company's unique attributes.
- Work with Deal Teams to collect and review diligence materials to prepare credit memorandums for presentation to the leadership team.
- Participate in deal origination and underwriting process from sourcing to execution / closing
- Involved in monitoring an existing portfolio of borrowers to ensure compliance with loan covenants and report status up to the leadership team.
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and conferences to represent the firm and build professional networks.
What You'll Bring
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Interest in technology trends, key metrics, and capital markets impacting the innovation ecosystem.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Effective communication in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience, and excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel software proficiency.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, another business related field required or equivalent experience
- Minimum Required: 1+ years' of commercial banking, investment banking, or private capital investing experience required.
- Recent graduates will also be considered
