Summary 

The Operations Associate-New Recruit Transition assists new branch support staff and advisors in transitioning to Stifel. This position requires the ability to gain a sound understanding of processes and procedures regarding account structures and document requirements, as well as high-level customer service. The Associate will provide application support and training and answer general operational questions for recruits. This position will require collaboration among team members and branch office personnel to provide high-level customer service under direct supervision while following established procedures..

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Works within established firm and department guidelines to review and open accounts for recruits using internal systems.
  • Provides high-level support to new branch support staff and advisors.
  • Identifies potential problems or issues and escalates to department leadership if necessary.
  • May read and review legal documents such as Power of Attorney, Trust, and Court Documents.
  • Identifies account types and structures to know what documentation is needed to open the account.
  • Completes various reports to ensure account coding, documents, and other account features are accurate.
  • Work collaboratively within a team and with other department areas to perform assigned tasks.
  • Provides the highest quality of customer service through written and verbal communication.
  • Other department duties may be assigned, including hotline phone calls, department emails, document coding, and other account updates or projects.

Qualifications 

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to follow up on open tasks.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of account types and account structures along with documentation needed beneficial.
  • High-level customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn Stifel's applications, industry rules/regulations, and Stifel policies that pertain to the department and Stifel's branches.
  • Working knowledge of financial services applications, systems, terminology, and procedures.

Education & Experience 

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum Required: 1+ years of professional business-related experience.

Systems & Technology 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Thomson One, BETA, and eQuest knowledge are beneficial.
