Summary

The Bank Customer Relations Specialist controls the issuance and renewal of credit cards by the organization. The Bank Customer Relationship Specialist interacts with customers to provide a variety of general information in response to inquiries about products and services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Interface with clients and gather financial information.

  • Opens customer accounts by collecting and analyzing customer information.

  • Prepares product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information.

  • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint, determining the root cause of the problem, identifying and executing the best solution, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.

  • Conducts basic credit review.

  • Provides management with summaries of collected credit information to assist in determining credit worthiness.

  • Ensures all financial and credit records are maintained and stored according to record retention guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Understand and comply with all regulations, including the Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, etc.

  • Strong Knowledge of credit principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively during inter-departmental and external interactions.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • No experience required. 1+ years' experience preferred.  

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
