The Structured Investments Desk Assistant Risk Trader will work closely with the Structured Investments Product Desk by supporting and facilitating origination, trading and product support functions.



What We're Looking For

  • Assist in product origination efforts by working with issuing counterparties on pricing and origination of calendar and  custom structured offerings.
  • Act as a backup trader to assist with trading responsibilities and secondary market execution in order to provide liquidity for investors, as needed.
  • Reconciling deal terms and trade information, setting up offerings in the system, updating offerings sheets and internal database with deal records, working on ad hoc queries with operations, compliance, legal and other infrastructure partners.
  • Assist in communications with financial advisors, helping with product education, trade related inquiries and ad hoc requests.
  • Abide by all the Policies and Procedures of Stifel and should be completely aware of and in compliance with all FINRA, TRACE, SEC, and state and federal laws as they relate to the securities industry and the products they work in.
  • Assist in maintaining transactions records, work with internal partners to update/develop marketing materials, consistent with current regulations.


What You'll Bring

  • Strong level of detail is required in framework of working with complex instruments and time sensitive transaction.
  • Some understanding and experience with equity options and knowledge of financial industry and capital markets.
  • Proven experience coordinating and completing assigned tasks, independently, accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Results oriented individual, with a proactive and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, team oriented approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Bloomberg.
  • Preferred familiarity with trading platforms - MarketAxes, TradeWeb/BondDesk, IPREO.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Business related or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum Required: 0-3 years of experience in the financial services industry.


Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: Obtain series 7 and 63 licenses within 3-6 months of start date. 


Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strong technical skills with experience in VBA, SQL, Python, and task streamlining tools to support data-driven sales processes.
