Sterling Medical is actively recruiting a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon, PA. In this role, you will deliver high-quality anesthesia care, both in the clinic and during surgical procedures, to veterans and their eligible beneficiaries. Your work will adhere to the rigorous standards set forth by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Guidelines.

Position Details:

  • Regular Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • On-Call Requirements: Availability for on-call duties is required during non-clinic hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. On-call providers must respond within 15 minutes by phone and be on-site within 60 minutes.
  • Consultation Availability: CRNAs must be accessible for phone consultations with VA providers and other CRNAs at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, orthopedic (including joint replacements), plastic, ENT, urologic, podiatric, minor vascular, gynecological, endoscopic, dental/oral, and ophthalmologic operations.
  • Provide anesthesia support in the surgical intensive care unit, short stay unit, and for acute and chronic pain management.
  • Conduct diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography for both medical and surgical patients.
  • Manage emergency airway situations and provide consultative services both at the bedside for non-ambulatory patients and in the clinic for ambulatory patients.
  • Deliver anesthesia services in accordance with the highest standards of care in a modern medical facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. Must also have an active and unrestricted DEA license. No history of license restrictions, suspensions, revocations, or pending actions.
  • Certification: Board Certified/Board Eligible CRNA by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Demonstrated technical proficiency in required skills and fluent in English (speaking, understanding, reading, and writing).
  • Credentialing and Privileging: Must comply with VHA Directives 1100.20 and 1100.21, and obtain approval from the Facility Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director before providing services.
  • Continuing Education: Maintain up-to-date continuing education as required for certification, and provide documentation verifying current certification annually.
  • Training: Complete all VA educational and mandatory training requirements, including ACLS, BLS, EHR, and any other VA-specific training.
