Overview

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator with expertise in SharePoint Online to support the planning, development, and execution of SharePoint initiatives. This role involves managing server workloads, ensuring compliance with governance and security policies, and providing subject matter expertise in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within the team to contribute technical expertise and deliver effective solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

 

SharePoint Administration:

  • Contribute to the planning, development, and execution of tasks related to new SharePoint initiatives.
  • Evaluate and propose improvements to the State of Vermont's SharePoint infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance existing systems and workflows.

 

Systems Administration:

  • Administer a standard workload of servers, including tasks such as building, decommissioning, and remediating security vulnerabilities.
  • Partner with application owners to upgrade or rebuild systems as needed.

 

Office 365 Support:

  • Provide technical support for Office 365 applications, including SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Purview, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Address and resolve tickets efficiently and assist site collection administrators.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft Premier support as necessary.

 

Governance and Compliance:

  • Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining governance policies for SharePoint, MS Teams, and PowerPlatform integrations.
  • Implement and administer M365 Purview sensitivity labels, retention labels and data-loss prevention policies to protect State resources.

 

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Collaborate with senior staff to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Stay informed of advancements within the Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online platforms.
  • Recommend updates to service offerings and participate in discussions within the Office 365 User Group.

 

DocuSign SaaS eSignature Platform:

  • Support the implementation of eSignature solutions and their integration with MS Teams and SharePoint Online.
  • Develop workflows to optimize business processes and report on platform usage.
  • Provide training and guidance on DocuSign administration and operations.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Participate in internal meetings and provide technical insights to support organizational goals.
  • Engage with external providers to ensure alignment with the State of Vermont's needs.

 

Independent Problem Solving:

  • Exercise autonomy in addressing complex technical tasks.
  • Work effectively to meet project deadlines and deliver quality results.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Some maintenance work on assigned equipment may be necessary and some work outside of regular work schedule may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.

 

OR

 

Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.

 

OR

 

Six (6) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in systems administration and SharePoint Online.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and managing Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with PowerPlatform, Security and Compliance, and eSignature tools.
