Overview
The Administrative Services Technician will provide support at the Vermont Fire Academy by processing firefighter annual recertification and performing data entry such as student enrollment information and grades. This position will also perform other administrative duties during peak workload periods, to include general business office functions such as copying, scanning, and filing records. Duties will also include providing customer service, and answering and responding to communications regarding to firefighter training and certification. This position requires the ability to learn basic data entry procedures within a records management system, experience with Microsoft 365, and the ability to write professional business correspondence.
This position will work Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:45am and 4:30pm, approximately 10 to 30 hours per week depending on workload. There is some flexibility within the schedule depending on the needs of the Academy. Remote work is not available for this position.
Who May ApplyThis position, Part-Time Administrative Services Technician IV (Job Requisition #52488)), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Minimum QualificationsOne (1) year of college level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.
OR
High school graduation or equivalent and one (1) year of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.
OR
One (1) year as an Administrative Services Technician III with the State of Vermont.
