Agency Facilities is a unique group within DEC tasked with project development, full design and construction bidding/oversight for projects at a wide variety of the Agency's state-owned properties.

Civil Engineering project types include

All our projects must go through environmental permitting and archaeological reviews so in addition to the prime focus of designing and building projects that help improve/sustain State infrastructure and properties, exposure to all facets of the State's environmental and land use programs is inherent to the job, creating an immersive learning opportunity for a person considering entering this field.

Our prime clients are all within the Agency of Natural Resources- Dept. of Forests, Parks and Recreation, the Fish & Wildlife Dept., and other Dept. of Environmental Conservation programs seeking technical assistance.

It is expected that we would match the successful applicant's skills to the needs of our project teams.

Important attributes we are looking for in applicants applying for this position are:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively within our small team and with our client/partners
  • Technical writing proficiency
