Overview

The Education Quality Division of the Agency of Education (AOE) is seeking an enthusiastic and mission driven individual to be an Education Quality Assurance Coordinator. This position will provide statewide leadership, oversight and support to Vermont supervisory unions and districts (SUs/SDs), schools, educators, and communities to implement Continuous Improvement efforts, education quality standards and several grant opportunities. The Education Quality Assurance Coordinator will also work and collaborate with other individuals and teams in the Vermont Agency of Education, other state agencies, educational organizations, and Local Education Agencies (LEAs). Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement, applying continuous improvement efforts, comprehensive needs assessments, grant management, providing training and technical assistance, and managing projects are important qualities of the ideal candidate.

 

This position sits on the Education Quality Assurance (EQA) team in the Education Quality Division. The EQA team works with Vermont SUs/SDs and schools, in partnership with other divisional and agency teams, to support the implementation continuous improvement efforts. Support includes providing and developing technical assistance, coaching, training and resources.

 

Specific job duties of an Education Quality Assurance Coordinator Include:

  • Provide tiered technical assistance, training and coaching on Continuous Improvement for all Vermont Supervisory Unions, School Districts and Schools
  • Provide more intensive technical assistance, training and coaching to schools eligible for comprehensive and targeted supports as determined by Vermont's Every Student Succeeds Act plan
  • Development and oversight of Continuous Improvement resources
  • Review Continuous Improvement Plans
  • Coordinate Continuous Improvement efforts across teams and divisions
  • Provide statewide leadership and coordination to Supervisory Union/Supervisory District leadership for implementation of the Vermont Education Quality Standards through Continuous Improvement planning
  • Collaborate with Agency of Education, other state agencies and Supervisory Unions or School Districts on specific projects related to elements of the Education Quality Standards and the state accountability system
  • Contribute to organizational mission and vision
  • Co-create planning and policy documents, and improve or restructure existing programs to meet the needs of the field
  • Review Title I School Improvement Grant applications and provide technical assistance to Supervisory Union/School District leaders, school administrators and other stakeholders
  • Participate and lead programmatic monitoring, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Environmental Factors

Work is generally performed in a standard office setting, but significant travel may be anticipated for which private means of transportation must be available. Some work outside of normal work schedule may be required. There may be considerable interaction with a variety of publics and strong differences of opinion may be encountered.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, or related field AND five (5) years or more at a professional level education, program development, or leadership role in a public or private educational institution.
OR
Three (3) years or more as an Education Programs Coordinator I with the State of Vermont.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree.
