Overview
The Education Medicaid Director oversees school-based health services operations for the Vermont Agency of Education (AOE). Responsibilities include managing grants, claims, compliance, and audits, as well as ensuring program integrity and adherence to state and federal requirements. The role involves significant collaboration with state and federal Medicaid personnel, school staff, and other agencies, while also supervising a team of six. Key duties include providing technical assistance, developing training materials, analyzing program trends, and creating reports. The position requires expertise in Medicaid and special education policies, with occasional testimony to the Legislature.
This position is classified as an Education Medicaid Unit Administrator by the Department of Human Resources.

Duties are generally performed in a standard office setting but there will be some travel required for which private means of transportation must be available. Work involves dealing with a wide variety of people and groups with diverse and strongly held opinions.
Minimum QualificationsFour (4) years or more of experience with Medicaid or other health insurance, school-based health services, state/federal program compliance, or related field INCLUDING one (1) year or more of supervisory, management, or team lead experience.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, accounting, education, public administration, or human services.
Experience in accounting or financial management.
