If so the Agency of Digital Services team supporting the Vermont Agency of Education and the Department of Labor has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Analyst. 

 

We are seeking a skilled Configuration Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing business processes, procedures, and user requirements to identify opportunities for process improvement, improving existing systems, and new system implementations. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, enhance system performance, and ensure ease of use for data analysis, operational efficiency, and a seamless user experience. 

 

This position will work closely with various stakeholders, including technical teams, security experts, business partners, and the broader ADS team to ensure the smooth operation of digital systems and the development of innovative solutions. 

 

The Configuration Analyst position will be located in Montpelier through the implementation of the Unemployment Insurance modernization efforts. After this, the position will be 80/20 remote, meaning we are in the office 1 day per week.  For in-office days, the position will be in Montpelier.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze business processes, procedures, and user requirements to identify areas for improvement or new system implementations.
  • Configure systems to address opportunities for improving various processes.
  • Participate in the systems development lifecycle and project lifecycle processes.
  • Lead or participate in teams focused on analyzing and improving business processes.
  • Create system design documents, flowcharts, and detailed requirements documentation.
  • Prioritize and analyze user needs for new or enhanced computer applications.
  • Collaborate with IT and program staff to develop functional tools and system enhancements.
  • Participate in technical walk-throughs to ensure business and technical requirements alignment.
  • Provide input into the development of large-scale projects and assist in their execution and monitoring.
  • Consult with systems developers on application design and review to facilitate integrated business/systems solutions.
  • Ensure documentation and acceptance of system specifications and data collection requirements by users and program staff.
  • Contribute to the development of information management procedures and policies, especially related to data security and data accuracy.
  • Provide technical support to department/agency personnel on implemented software.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Work outside of regular business hours may be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher in computer science, information technology, data science, or related field AND five (5) or more years of experience in data administration, business analysis, statistics, computer programming or design work.

 

OR

 

Eight (8) years or more of data administration, business analysis, statistics, computer programming or design work at a professional level.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
Configuration Experience with HR Systems (both on-premise and SAAS).
