Overview

The Vermont Department Of Environmental Conservation is looking for an Administrative Services Manager III.  This is a new position created within the Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division to lead the administrative, financial, and operational services for the division. The position will manage a team of thirteen people with direct supervision of two positions. The team is responsible for managing day-to-day activities such as incoming and outgoing mail, data entry, permit processing and records management, and other related tasks. The position will work closely with division supervisors and directly with staff to support the programs and build internal capacity while managing core administrative services. The division is comprised of a team of seventy-five people dedicated to protecting public health and our environment by managing Vermont's drinking water supplies, protecting Vermont's groundwater resources, and regulating wastewater disposal activities that could adversely affect groundwater.

SALARY:
Salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. When comparing salaries, remember that comprehensive benefits are worth up to 30% of your total compensation.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:
Our work schedules are flexible and more than 80 hours per pay period is rarely necessary and always compensated.

 

TELEWORK:

The Agency of Natural Resources has an employee-friendly telework policy, requiring staff (once trained) to work from the office as little as a few days a month. The rest of the days, staff are welcome to work in the office as they wish or work from their productive home offices.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

 

OR

 

Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

 

OR

 

Associate's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

 

OR

 

High School diploma AND seven (7) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

 

OR

 

One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Manager II with the State of Vermont.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
