- Cardiac PCU (5th Floor)
- 24 beds on unit
- Patient Ratio: 1:3-4 for PCU level acuity
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients include TAVR, Post Caths- TR bands and fem stops, Temporary/transvenous pacemakers, VATS, lobectomies, POD 4-5 CABG, Thoracic- fem pops, etc.
- Must have 2 years of experience in PCU
- RNs are required to titrate drips: nitroglycerin, heparin, cardizem, nicardipine, amiodarone, insulin, dopamine, esmolol, labetolol, milrinone, argatroban, aggrostat
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor positions available
- Nurse aids on unit with a CNAs 1:8 ratio; may be pulled for 1:1 sitters, 1:10 at nights
- Hospitalist availability should be hospitalist not intensivist
- Pharmacy Availability will change and the house pharmacist will be available
- RT dedicated to unit with equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.
- Offsite central monitoring with requirement for nurses to measure and interpret their own strips.
- Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in PCU
- BLS & ACLS required
- Preferred certifications: NIHSS, CRRN, PCCN (not required)
- RNs required to titrate drips
- Charge nurse responsibilities may apply
- Monitoring capabilities with regards to telemetry and equipment
- Schedule Information
- Shifts 07-1930 and 1900-0730, 6 weeks at a time
- Self scheduling, reviewed by the manager
- First schedule will be filling holes
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) minimum, with high need on Sat, Sun, Mon
- At least 1 major holiday during the holiday season required
- No call or standby requirement
- Unit Specific Information
- Any professional color scrubs acceptable for dress code
- EPIC experience preferred; potential testing out of Epic if experienced within the last year
- 8-hour Epic class in Tacoma included
- 8-hour onboarding and education day with tours etc.
- 1 Shift with a preceptor
- Additional Details
- Region III primary to St. Michael Medical Center, float across Region Three as needed
- Additional $20/hr when floated within Region III that's not the primary facility
- Looking for a flexible, team player mentality
