Description

SSM Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Geriatric Physician to join our multidisciplinary team in St. Louis, Missouri. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to elderly patients, addressing their unique medical needs and improving their quality of life. This role involves working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized care plans for geriatric patients.

- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses specific to elderly patients.

- Manage multiple health conditions and medications, ensuring safe and effective treatment plans.

- Provide preventive care, including routine check-ups, health screenings, and vaccinations.

- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, including specialists, nurses, and social workers.

- Educate patients and their families about managing age-related health conditions and promoting healthy aging.

- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and optimize patient care.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of geriatric care protocols and best practices.

- Engage in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in geriatric medicine.

Qualifications:

- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

- Board certification in Geriatric Medicine or eligibility to obtain certification.

- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Missouri.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in geriatric care preferred.

- Strong clinical skills with a focus on comprehensive, patient-centered care.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current in the field of geriatric medicine.
