Job Highlights:

SSM Health – Illinois seeks a Physician Assistant to join our established Endocrinology team in Mt. Vernon. The successful candidate will join our Medical Group and will be affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, in a full-time position.

This is an employed position with SSM Health – Good Samaritan Hospital, a premier hospital system located in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, where easy access is available to St. Louis, Chicago, Evansville, Indianapolis, Lexington, Louisville, Memphis and Nashville.

Highlights of the opportunity are:

  • Clinic based position with a Monday - Friday schedule
  • No night call!

Successful candidates must have/be:

  • Successful completion of an accredited PA school
  • Hold current Board Certification.
  • Experienced endocrinology provider is preferred, however a new graduates will not be excluded, with preference given to those with previous Diabetic Educator experience.
  • Active Illinois PA license is preferred.

Job Summary:

In collaboration with physician(s), demonstrates and provides professional nursing care to specialty patients requiring an advanced level of knowledge and management of their nursing care.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • Completion of a formal post-basic education program from or formally affiliated with an accredited college, university or hospital (Before July 1, 1998) or a graduate degree from an accredited college or university (After July 1, 1998) with a concentration in the appropriate advanced practice nursing clinical specialty area.
  • Board certification by a national recognized certifying board in the appropriate population focus
  • Current or compact RN license in appropriate state
  • Appropriate PA license or document of recognition in appropriate state

EXPERIENCE

  • One year experience
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
  • PA Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • And
  • APN Controlled Substance - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
