About the Role
We are seeking a candidate to join our team in London as a Senior Associate Valuations. The successful candidate will oversee the pricing validation of OTC derivatives, listed securities, bonds, and other esoteric products traded by our clients.
The valuations team is a centralised team globally responsible for overseeing the pricing of the positions held in our clients' portfolios in line with their valuation policy and plays a key role in ensuring integrity of the NAV production. The valuations team also performs valuation control (i.e. valuation reconciliation of primary source against other reference sources, market data integrity checks, pricing consistency checks, among other things).
The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently on a wide variety of tasks and display an aptitude for problem solving. They will assist in the monthly and quarterly tasks in a timely manner, and where necessary escalating valuation issues to Management/client. They will also be required to collaborate with various internal stakeholders on valuation matters and have knowledge on various asset pricing models.

Your Responsibilities
- Provide end–to-end valuations across a variety of financial instruments including various OTC derivatives.
- Review P&L queries and monthly valuation reconciliations, analysing and commenting on exceptions. Investigating and resolving pricing and valuation differences for both OTC derivatives and securities products using bother internal tool and vendor applications such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
- Manage client deliverables and prioritise workloads, ensuring NAV tasks have been completed promptly.
- Form good working relationships with internal and external global counterparts (Trade Capture, Fund Accounting, and Market Data teams, Clients, Counterparties and Vendors).
- To perform yield curve reviews, and assist in projects impacting the valuations business that requires pricing expertise.
- To perform UAT testing new valuation methodologies for new instrument types .
- Generate new ideas, and challenge the status quo, taking ownership to improve efficiency within the valuations team and to help maintain a robust valuation control process.
Your Experience
Ideally you would have a strong analytical background/previous experience in valuation of derivatives or other financial instruments. Exceptions could be considered if the candidate has strong derivative pricing knowledge that has been demonstrated academically or with relevant professional qualification e.g. CFA, FRM or similar. Further experience required below:
- Degree in /Finance or another numerical discipline including financial derivative module
- Knowledge on financial instruments such as bonds, interest rate swaps, equity options, FX options, swaptions, etc.
- Understanding of applied mathematics in derivative products valuation would be an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills with ambition to see projects and deliverables through to completion.
- Analytical skills to be able to perform investigation of pricing discrepancies between various pricing sources.
- Be skilled at prioritising, organising and working on multiple clients/tasks
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate complex valuation information to diverse audience.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines as part of a team.
