ROLE PROFILE
Job Title:
AI Innovation Analyst (Digital Business Analyst – Technical BA)
Main Purpose of Role:
- Supporting the Digital Product and Innovation team to ensure the relevant requirements are captured, documented and prioritized to meet product strategy. The core requirement will be to translate functional requirements into technical requirements, given our mixed AWS and on-prem technology stack.
A serious enthusiasm for emerging technology and its real-world application, specifically AI technologies such as: predictive modelling, AutoML, fine-tuning and off-the-shelf usage of transformer models including LLMs; for data extraction, code generation, transcription, RAG-based Q&A, and other use cases.
Flexibility to assist with project delivery and management, working as part of a small and focused development team, with the ability to adjust our work framework to our specific AI Innovation needs. Development of the business case for each PoC.
Representing the user within the sprint; supporting the development, enhancement, testing and delivery of Digital products. This is specifically for our AI Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), working within an Agile methodology.
Driving the completion of vision, scoping, research, requirements, testing, and other relevant documents.
Conduct process mapping of existing operational processes and identify pain points and corresponding process improvements or redesigns. These will incorporate the future AI PoC to clearly define benefits and provide a starting point for a roadmap for operational team managers to rollout the built tool.
Work with stakeholders in the business, to better define use cases in line with our innovation framework and build relationships. This will involve both operational teams for internal automation benefit, as well as product teams for external client benefit.
Be an ambassador of the Digital Product and Innovation team, driving forward improvement initiatives within the team and collaboration with internal and external parties. Own and drive the ongoing improvement of the AI Innovation programmed, focusing on our ability to productions successful PoCs and build relationships with our IT teams to facilitate handovers to production.
Area/Sub Function:
- Identify and analyse requirements for future and current deliveries
- Lead and facilitate meetings/workshops and confidently present to internal and external stakeholders
- Act as a key interface within the enterprise with the ability to cross communicate requirements, needs and concepts
- Work within and support the development team, ensuring best practice principles are adhered to.
- Support delivery with in-sprint testing - planning, co-ordination and execution, ensuring that system changes delivered meet the systems design and the user story desired outcome
- Provide consultancy and / or the coordination of support for all stages of system and user acceptance testing along with Early Life Support/post implementation support
- Keep all stakeholders informed of progress, risks and issues on work (quality, timelines, budget).
- Complete weekly release status and other bespoke project reporting in line with the needs of key stakeholders/project managers
- Complete work to required quality standards and within agreed budget.
- Ensure industry knowledge and specific product knowledge is maintained. Keep abreast of regulatory change and industry trends.
- Build collaborative relationships and provide consultancy for internal and external stakeholders, representing SS&C as required.
- Work with key stakeholders to assist with maintenance of business artefacts, such as Process Maps, The Data Landscape and the Business Services Proposition.
- Consider the company's strengths and capabilities, technologies, quality, costs, customer interactions, and marketplace demands
- Be a crucial member of the scrum team providing expertise to support product success
- Keep up to date with and analyze market opportunity to anticipate industry direction
- Apply technical, business, product and industry knowledge to product
- Make recommendations for product enhancements to improve the product offering and profitability

- Some experience in Financial Services, ideally including business and technology roles
- Experienced and proven record of delivering products
- Understanding of web application technologies
- Understanding of API principles
- Understanding of and enthusiasm for AI technologies, including LLMs
- Understanding of key cloud technology providers; specifically, AWS and the available services and how they apply to solution design
- Understanding of prompt engineering and HITL-AI application design
- Strong and proven interpersonal skills, such as ability to be client-facing

- Working experience of Analysis and Design methodology
- Experience of working in Agile methodology
- Over 8 years' experience in Financial Services, ideally including business and technology roles.
- Experience of UX/UI design
- Basic SQL skills or equivalent
- Experience delivering digital products within financial services
- Previous experience of software development / programming
- BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or similar (or has started modules)
- Understanding and working knowledge of business architecture methodology (capability models/ user journeys etc.)
- Understanding of SS&C systems and technology infrastructure, both current and proposed.
