The Account Manager is responsible for the development of our customer base and their dealer base – in essence – take ownership in these two business channels.  The Account Manager must work to position SRC as the customers' primary supplier and be essential in the development of the annual strategic plan with sales and gross margin dollar goals.  Account Manager's must build strong and personable relationships with the customers.  It is expected that the account manager will be the internal market expert on their customer's products within SRC. The Account Manager will have input on promotions, pricing levels and new product development with the use of competitor knowledge base covering such as their product offerings, pricing, strengths, and weaknesses. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

Sales and Business Development:

  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting and lead generation.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals to meet or exceed sales targets.

Product Knowledge:

  • Gain a deep understanding of our products, their features, benefits, and applications.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in technology and our product offerings.

Customer Engagement:

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Offer technical assistance and guidance to customers regarding our product.

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Assist in the development of marketing materials such as brochures, catalogs, and online content.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and promotional activities to enhance brand awareness and generate leads.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales performance metrics.
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts for managements review.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other sales team members and departments to achieve common goals.
  • Share market insights and customer feedback to help improve products and services.

Key Qualifications:

  •  3-5 years of proven experience in sales, preferably in the heavy and medium duty aftermarket parts industry
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing or significant practical experience in lieu of degree
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical or fuel applications preferred
  • Ability to travel and making professional sales calls on customers
  • Excellent customer service focus with an understanding of cost of service
  • Good understanding of both financial reports and the budgeting process
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, detail orientation and ability to multi-task
