Description

Spectrum Health Systems (Spectrum) is a grant subrecipient of the Middle District Attorney's Office (MDAO) Worcester County Regional Outreach Project grant awarded under the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP).  As such, Spectrum will provide community-based outreach to survivors of overdose in the South Region of Worcester County.  This region includes the following cities and towns: Auburn, Bellingham, Blackstone, Brookfield, Charlton, Douglas, Dudley, East Brookfield, Grafton, Hopedale*, Leicester, Mendon*, Milford*, Millbury, Millville, Northborough, Northbridge, Oxford, Shrewsbury, Southborough, Southbridge, Sturbridge, Sutton, Upton*, Uxbridge, Webster, and Westborough.   

Spectrum will employ Peer Recovery Coaches to provide peer support services which facilitate, encourage, and sustain the recovery of opioid overdose survivors.  These Coaches will respond to referrals received through the Critical Incident Management System (CIMS) within 72 hours.  Services will be provided in conjunction with the local police department as needed.   Ongoing Coaching services will be provided through grant funded positions for no longer than six (6) months and only when alternative payment sources are not available.  Spectrum will maintain follow up data in CIMS and ensure that data is entered within 48 hours of activity.

*These communities are currently served by Community Impact's post overdose follow up Recovery Services Navigation Program (RSNP) in partnership with the local municipalities.  Referrals in these communities should be handled in cooperation with Community Impact at the discretion of the local police chiefs.

• Provide recovery coaching services and supports after a non-fatal overdose in the service region as identified by the CIMS database.
• Enter all follow up data into the CIMS after a post-overdose visitProvide monthly program progress reports to MDAO Project Manager
• Provide monthly financial reports/invoicing and appropriate back up to MDAO
• Attend grant status update meetings as set by the MDAO Project Manager
• Participate in regional work group discussions with MDAO Project Manager and local law enforcement
