Location: Peer Recovery Center – Southbridge, MA

Schedule: Full-time. 40 hours a week. 

Pay rate: $17.00-$19.00

Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma, or GED required.
  • One year of experience in substance addiction program preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal, social, and writing skills.
  • Must display the use of appropriate independent judgement to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
  • Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting.
  • Weekends and evening shift may be required.

Peer Coordinator: 

  • Recruits volunteers for the Recovery Center and provides pre-service orientation and training to peer volunteers.
  • Works closely with peer volunteers to plan, implement and evaluate program activities.
  • Oversees work performed by peer volunteers.
  • Helps facilitate volunteer committees.
  • Provides recovery coaching to participants.
  • Performs case management activities regarding initial housing, job search, medical services, insurance, social services, education, etc.
  • Coordinates continuing recovery referrals including scheduling of initial appointments.
  • Demonstrates cultural competency in working with participants, employees, referral agencies and others from diverse ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds.
  • Maintains and prepares reports as directed.
  • Assists with crisis management and other emergencies as needed.
