Qualifications

Required:

  • Enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Engineering, Physics, or another STEM field. 
  • Willingness to learn program/organizational processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to delve into technical details and translate those into findings and recommendations.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.

Desired:

  • Studying Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Design) modeling or prototyping
  • Experience with MatLab, Mathematica, or other engineering calculation software
  • Algorithm or coding capability, either for machine control, data analysis, data ingestion/collection, or sensor system integration
  • Background with independent research, scientific experimentation, data anlysis, and report writing


Responsibilities

We are seeking a smart, energetic, and dedicated individual who is actively pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics or another STEM field to work alongside an SPA mentor in support of DTRA Research & Development programs concerning Test and Evaluation Technologies. The successful intern will be a quick learner and key contributor to analysis, projects, presentations and discussions. 

 

This internship is primarily in office work with occasional telework allowed.  Timeline for this job opportunity:  We are currently accepting applications for this paid internship and will make offers contingent on the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance for a summer 2025 start date.
