Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's level degree or experience at the Navy E-6 or above level, including CWO or LDO
  • 7+ years of professional experience in shipboard/combat systems and test and evaluation.
  • DoD Secret clearance, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment


Responsibilities

Shipboard Project Engineers (SPEs) who interface and coordinate requirements with combat system technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the ship's force, and other Government personnel to ensure shipboard combat/weapon system readiness during test planning and execution of the test event. The SPE shall lead the efforts to determine the readiness of the combat system/weapon system to support the planned test events, to include in-port maintenance checks, readiness assessments, system integration, operability and other workup efforts.  The SPE shall ensure that the test team captures all potential and confirmed issues, such as computer program, hardware, logistics, etc, via Test Observation Reports (TORs) and managed via TOR database. The SPE shall manage, coordinate and ensure the successful completion of the test event throughout the planning, execution, reporting and analysis phases of each assigned event.  Personnel assigned to the SPE position shall obtain Training Qualification Standard (TQS) within one year of their assignment to the SPE position.
