Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in international relations or national security
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to break down complex unstructured problems, lay out objective approaches, and develop solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical subjects to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Familiar with military operations and planning
  • Understanding of Chemical and Biological Defense Programs
  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Desired:

  • Master's degree
  • Graduate of an advanced warfighting school (SAMS, SAW, JAWS, SAAS, MAWS)
  • Experience assessing developing/pre-fielded technologies
  • Chemical and Biological Defense Program experience
  • Experience with Materiel development/acquisition process

Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on projects by providing research and development (R&D) analysis to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Research and Development Chemical Biological Department with emphasis on support to the Joint Technology Advancement Team (JTAT) by acting as an integrator and advisor between Science and Technology Managers, DoD scientists and engineers, and Warfighters; informing design of, operational coordination of, and advisement of Warfighter engagement events; facilitating analysis of early technologies for operational considerations (form, fit, function, CONOPS/CONEMPS, etc); and attending relevant enterprise and technical meetings, reviews, conferences, and the like to stay informed of current and ongoing work. Analyze and synthesize complex problems and support the development of solutions to these complex problems using problem solving techniques to address and resolve issues. Perform with guidance, and defined objectives, priorities and deadlines from team lead or supervisor for technical and administrative direction. Support collaboration with other Chemical Biological Divisions to guide and inform the identification and validation of technologies to ensure they are relevant to the Warfighter and the enterprise, account for and not duplicative of (to the best of their knowledge) other ongoing work within and external to the enterprise, and within scope. Develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) that represent the central idea, operational approaches, and concept required capabilities in joint concepts for the purpose of evaluation and development of early S&T efforts to support the joint force development process and further the efforts of the CBDP objectives.
