ATF Compliance Specialist

1st Shift

Position Summary:

The ATF Compliance Specialist performs a wide range of tasks relating to the Compliance and Legal Group and assuring the company operates within the Federal Firearms regulations.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following however other duties may be assigned.

Daily Tasks             

  • Daily NFA Reservations.
  • Daily NFA Manufacturing Report (electronic).
  • Complete/ submit all necessary NFA Forms (2,3,5,9).
  • ATF Traces (daily quantity).
  • NFA Cycle Counts.
  • Update Current Customer FFLs in Oracle and Agile.
  • Manage NFA open orders and allocations.
  • Assist in correcting serial number discrepancies/records.
  • Assist in correcting shipping/return discrepancies.
  • Manage NFA temporary Imports/Exports.
  • Submit letters to ATF involving scrapped NFA items and configuration changes.
  • Remove NFA holds when the product is available and ATF approval has been received.
  • Work with LE regarding T&Es to Agencies. Transfer of firearms from one rep to another.
  • Outside Rep Accounts Quarterly Inventory Checks.
  • Assist accounting with serial numbers and account discrepancies.
  • Assist sales and shipping with order holds and shipment.
  • Assist commercial sales with account creation and management.
  • Assist with the scrapping of serialized items, systematically and physically.

Other Duties

  • Tours and training.
  • Apply for, renew, and manage FFLs and SOTs licenses.
  • Adjust inventory A&D records/scrapped firearms.
  • Submit and manage vendors marking variances.
  • Report lost, missing, and/or theft of firearms to the ATF.
  • Manufacturing, Marketing, Engineering, and Pro Shop cycle count support.
  • Assist with Pro Shop A&D serial number discrepancies.
  • Work with Marketing and Engineering regarding temporary firearm imports for shows and other business-related purposes.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; and/or 3-4 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of federal firearms regulations is required.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Oracle, Pro-Alpha, Macola Accounting software; Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes Database software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Government experience preferred, particularly with federal firearms regulations and including familiarity with B.A.T.F, Department of State, and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
