THE OPPORTUNITY:

As the Practice Development Assistant for the Litigation and Employee Benefits Departments, you will assist the Practice Development Senior Director, Senior Manager, Manager, and Coordinator with practice management, marketing, and business development initiatives. You will play an active role in the development and implementation of key initiatives and programs, coordinating project stakeholders to ensure successful and timely project execution. We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. You will report to the Senior Manager of Practice Development for Litigation & Employee Benefits.

 

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

On any given day, you will be working with Practice Development colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will:

  • Coordinate logistics for Litigation and Employee Benefits group meetings and national CLE programs, ensuring smooth video conference connections and specialized AV needs.
  • Assist with the distribution of monthly practice group financial reports.
  • Prepare and coordinate handout materials for department meetings, practice group meetings, and client webinars.
  • Support the execution of Practice Group Strategic Plans.
  • Draft internal communications, including newsletters, invitations, surveys, and announcements.
  • Format and distribute external client communications as needed.
  • Support logistics for external events, including webinars and sponsorships.
  • Manage Practice Group portal pages, including content posting decisions.
  • Collaborate with the design team to edit department collateral and internal materials.
  • Assist with the preparation of league table submissions and reference management using the CRM system.
  • Handle various ad hoc projects as needed and requested.
 

YOU HAVE:

  • An undergraduate degree in business or a related field or equivalent job experience.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a professional services environment, with law firm experience preferred but not required.
  • Superior organizational skills, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong proofreading/copyediting skills and solid grammar skills.
  • The ability to efficiently plan and manage time while handling projects for multiple supervisors and competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, maintaining effective relationships with firm personnel, including management, a diverse group of attorneys, clients, and staff.
  • Professionalism, courtesy, and diplomacy in all communications.
  • A high degree of initiative and independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting and follow-through skills.
  • Regular professionalism, respect for all colleagues, and flexibility with tasks and requests.
