THE OPPORTUNITY:

As an Events Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to the Senior National Events Manager, working closely with members of the Marketing and Practice Development teams. On a given day, you will be responsible for site selection, contract negotiation, budgeting, and successful completion of internal and external virtual and in-person events, meetings, and sponsorships. This position will also assist with the procurement of Seyfarth-branded promotional items.

 

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

You will:

  • Independentlymanage event and meeting logistics, including, but not limited to, internal meetings, webinars, client-facing social events, client presentations/seminars, industry/conference sponsorships, trial teams, and alumni events as assigned
  • Prepare and monitor budgets
  • Handle hotel and event venue RFP process, consisting of site selection, contract negotiation and finalization, and payment of deposits
  • Create and distribute event communication, intranet, and registration sites
  • Track event registration and send reminders/updates to non-responsive invitees
  • Establish and enforce internal deadlines for event logistics, catering and audio-visual details, transportation, entertainment, and recreational activities
  • Develop meeting agendas and logistics, including catering, set-up, and audio-visual needs

Procure transportation, entertainment, and recreational activities through outside vendors as needed for partner meetings, department meetings, and off-site client events

•       Develop strong working relationships with all personnel to further the success of each event and its goal

•       Coordinate promotional orders and monitor stock of on-line promotional item store

•       Review and process invoices for payment

•       Other duties as assigned to fully meet with the requirements of the position

 

YOU HAVE:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 3-5 years as a corporate event planner/marketing team member
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/requests with ease while working under high pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to independently and proactively provide solutions as challenges arise
  • Ability to design and produce creative and exciting, well-thought out events, invitations and announcements using the latest technology and tools available
  • Ability to work within a team setting
  • Ability to manage and attend events as necessary, including possible travel

Chicago: The full time salary range for this role is $69,000 to $78,000 annually, which is based on a 40 hour work week.

 

Washington, D.C.: The full time salary range for this role is $74,000 to $84,000 annually, which is based on a 40 hour work week.

 

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role in the locations listed above at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
