This role is responsible for providing direct leadership to the Savage Team Members at the Exxon refinery in Baytown, Texas.
What you will be doing:
- Leadership of a team with a “Hands-on” approach
- Understanding of logistics, utilization of equipment and people to meet customer service expectations
- Lead the Savage S7 Delivery System and train all levels of leadership on S7
- Oversee and mentor the financial aspect of the Savage System (Budgets, Projections, Dailies
- Ensure procedures and policies are followed by all Team Members
- Oversee and participate in inspecting rail cars and documentation
- Manage the financial aspect of the Savage Operation (Budget, Projections, & Variances)
- Steward the Savage Safety Program
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors
- Travel to various sites for seminars, training, and unit meetings
- Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities, project management
- Provide leadership to each Team Member by teaching and training them in the following areas:
- Problem-Solving and Decision Making
- Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Compliance with Operational Processes and Procedures
- Maintenance Planning and Completion
- Professionalism and Cleanliness
Requirements of a Successful Sr. Manager, Refinery Operations:
- Experience in leading a team in operations, maintenance, construction, or another similarly related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with heavy equipment and maintenance components
- Understand and manage rail operations and safety
- Has computer skills including Microsoft Office, office organization, and administration
- Plan, control, and organize operations to meet each customer's unique needs and maximize effectiveness
- Manage hiring, training, retention, and the building of team morale at the operation
What we need from you:
- Minimum of five years experience in the supply chain or logistics industry
- College degree preferred
- Work outside in all weather conditions
- Experience with successfully leading a diverse team
