The successful candidate will provide managerial oversight at our rail operation for in Williston, ND. There will be other opportunities to support the company in varying capacities at times including, but not limited to oversight of; crude oil transfers via rail and truck, chemical transloads, Butane grade transloads, customer relationships, daily financial reporting, and leading the team with a safety-first priority.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Lead movement, loading, and storage of railcars at the operation
- Sets an example of high integrity and fair treatment of others
- Demonstrate a commitment to “zero occurrences” by effectively leading the safety, health and environmental efforts at the operation
- Effective utilization of the “Safety Specialist” program as a tool for accomplishing the safety goals of the operation and for developing future leadership
- Development of a business plan and execution of the plan including budgeting, projecting and cost management
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Solve problems and make decisions both individually and in a team environment
- Understands maintenance of equipment and maintenance management
Requirements of a successful Operations Manager:
- Basic understanding of material handling facilities and equipment
- Experience with project management and/or engineering
- Knowledge of computers and related hardware/software; knowledge of computer networks and programmable logic controllers a plus
- Able to see the “big picture”
- Understanding of heavy, industrial equipment from an operating and safety perspective
- Manage projects from conception to final commissioning
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system a plus but not required
- Learn new technical skills and techniques
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:
- This position is required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions for up to 12 hours
- Lift and carry at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Climb steps and ladders
- Walk, and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time
