The Maintenance Manager will primarily lead the system and equipment maintenance efforts for the Savage Rail Terminal Group in Green River, WY. This includes organizing maintenance team members, ordering materials, ensuring the rail services equipment needs are supported, and completing maintenance work in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.

What you'll be doing:
- Provide technical assistance to the mechanical team in maintaining and ensuring reliability for 16 EMD locomotives assigned to 4 distinct customers within a 10 mile radius.
- Provide support and training for locomotive maintenance personnel for all the Green River area
- Provide support to the Savage Management team by ensuring locomotive availability
- Develop and lead preventative maintenance practices for the Green River team
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Lead in Safety and ensures team members follow proper safety rules, maintenance and operating procedures.
- Write and revise maintenance procedures as needed
- Identify, procure and audit critical parts for the facility and system
- Oversee daily inspections and maintenance audits
- Ensure system and work performed is compliant with AAR/FRA/OSHA/MSHA as applies.
- Ability to schedule work and plan schedules to accommodate production
Requirements to be successful in this position:
- Extensive mechanical and electrical controls knowledge and troubleshooting experience
- In‐depth knowledge of liquid systems, including valves, pumps, meters, tanks,
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and air brake schematics
- Excellent communication skills: written and spoken
- Effective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors and other team members
- Self‐starter capable of working independently, in line with company goals, strategies and policies
- Creative and strategic in approaching issues. Not afraid to challenge the status quo
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion
- Ability to diagnose, problem solve and execute plans, to work in a leadership role
- Computer and internet savvy including the Microsoft Office
- A strong record of continuous improvement, personal development and attention to detail are absolute requirements.

Education/Experience:
- Five (5) years experience working in the rail industry
- Three (3) years in a maintenance supervisory role
- Background in planning and scheduling maintenance
- Experience applying safety regulations and written procedures in rail-based industries
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:
- This Manager will be on their feet for an extended period of time and walk long distances throughout the day.
- Navigating facilities will include, but is not limited to, exposure to harsh weather conditions, uneven ground, ladders, ground that can be slick, icy or uneven, and other industrial hazards
- Potential work sites include industrial rail facilities, remote rail lines, and will require someone who can work safely around this type of environment, as well as ensure compliance to strict MSHA, OSHA and FRA regulations
- As the internal industries we support operate on a 24/7 basis, this manager may be called out at night to assist with critical service problems
- Travel outside the Green River area will be minimum
- Must be comfortable working in an office environment at times, working with a computer and sitting for longer periods of time
