Position Title: Physician, Pain Management
Hours: Flexible and up to 2 to 3 days a week
Job Duties:
Provider will offer pain management services as a part of a county-based functional restoration program for patients experiencing various chronic pain conditions. Provider will work as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
Primary clinic responsibilities will be on an outpatient basis with opportunities to perform inpatient consultations as needed
Provider should be adept at musculoskeletal evaluations and interventional approaches for pain management along with being comfortable working in a team-based integrated care model that includes pain psychologists, physical therapists, and other co-located clinicians.
Provider should also be comfortable in prescribing pain medications, including opioids, with goals of management, de-escalation or transition to other medication assistance therapies such as buprenorphine or methadone.
Provider should be available to provide occasional lectures to patients regarding pain management approaches in a biopsychosocial model.
Provider will have flexibility in their clinical case load with opportunities to engage in on-call services, interventional spine interventions under fluoroscopy or provide care in other clinics outside or within San Mateo Medical Center as they deem appropriate.
The San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is a county-based health system serving patients in San Mateo County, California. Our system includes an extensive primary care network, an acute care hospital, medical and surgical sub-specialty services, and long-term care.
Provider will enter a 1-year contract with the County of San Mateo and be compensated using Fair Market Value analyses. The contract may be renewed with agreement from both parties. The provider is expected to be Board Eligible in Pain Management and have a current California Medical License.
Compensation Information:
$225.0 / Hourly - $225.0 / Hourly
Starting At: 225.0 Hourly
Up To: 275.0 Hourly
