SAIC is seeking a Senior SI&T Engineer to manage a team of engineers developing industry-leading ground system solutions for the government sector. To support of the Battlespace Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) Program.  This role requires extensive experience with system integration and testing, development of test procedures, generating test reports, conducting risk analyses and trade studies.

 The successful candidate will have the ability to track and gather artifacts and analyze results. As part of the SI&T Team in an Agile, DevSecOps environment to include:

- Develop and manage the overall test strategy, including plan and procedure development

- Integrating software and hardware Troubleshooting and debugging issues

- Development of automated test scripts and their execution

- Generation, review, maintenance, and management of documentation

- Conducting performance analysis, risk analysis, and trade studies

- Define and conduct system integration tests, including data generation, configuration settings, and test execution.

- Collaborate across disciplines and at all levels to ensure the system operates as designed, and communicate, address, and resolve issues.

- Perform system maintenance as needed.

- Participate in technical interchange meetings (TIMs) with the Customer and Customer Vendors

- Perform within an Agile environment, communicate status to section leads and identify potential risk with recommended solutions.

 

- Experience in System Integration and Test, including: * Defining and conducting integration scope. *Generating test data, configuration settings, and test planning and execution *Communicating status, results, and recovery plans (as applicable) to key internal and / or external stakeholders. *Direct interactions with external customers. *Experience with systems and requirements in a test environment: requirements analysis, developing associated documentation for integration and verification (plans, procedures, and reports), and supporting integration and verification execution events.

 

Experience with Agile and DevOps* Experience with pipeline development and maintenance, and associated tools (Jenkins / Gitlab / Gitlab Runner)* Experience with manual testing techniques including writing new procedures from scratch and maintaining / updating legacy test procedures* Experience with test automation including script development, root cause analysis, and resolution using tool suites such as SDK, MATLAB Space suite, SonarQube, Mattermost, Fortify, and Anchore* Expertise with troubleshooting complex S / W systems and develop issue closure plans with coordinated solutions across internal teams and external stakeholders.


A successful Integration and Test Engineer demonstrates engineering intuition and critical thinking and is comfortable working under ambiguous requirements with minimal oversight. Combining these skills, these engineers face challenges across a wide variety of work centers at the company, and the team is frequently asked to tackle new, inter-departmental development projects. The goal of the Integration and Test team is to ensure that satellites achieve their mission.

 

 

Qualifications

Bachelors' degree in engineering discipline 15+ years of design and/or hands-on HW/SW Computer Engineering Test experience

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

•            Experience with MATLAB, Python, or other programming language

•            Experience with integration and testing of AWS VPC pipelines, electrical and/or structural systems, LEO Satellites Engineering Development Units (EDU)

•            Experience integrating satellite bus systems.

•            Documentation and configuration management experience

•            Experience writing test plans, procedures, and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale.

•            Experience in a test emulation environment; including experience with Eclipse, Model Center, Solis, Spenvis, Excel, HFSS, ThermalDesktop

 

    Additional Technical Skills:

 

•            Experience writing functional, integration, and acceptance test in Java, C++, Python, Bash, QEMU, and Yocto, and/or Linux.

•            Proven knowledge of how to set up, manage, and create CI/CD pipelines using automation orchestration tools (SonarQube, Fortify, OWASP, Gitlab [Gitlab Runners], Xage Zero Trust, ACAS, Claire etc.)

•            Experience with VMware and VMWare tools and setting up VM's from templated VM's (Hypervisor Behavior Test Harness Development)

•            Proven experience reviewing unit tests and advising development teams on how to improve thoroughness in testing.

•            Experience in deriving requirements from customers to produce tangible testing results.

•            Experience developing automated scripts.

•            Derive requirements given from customers to testing plan.

•            Ability to tailor scripts to project-specific tools to simplify test requirements.

•            Experience designing and developing (new or modified) test automation solutions that meet customer needs.

•            Manual testing experience (injection of live or recorded satellite data for System modeling)

•            Good verbal and written communication skills

•            Experience working with customers to develop business process enhancements.

•            Experience working in or supporting DevSecOps Test Data Generator and Test Management Tools

•            Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

•            Experience with software containers (e.g., Docker and Podman) and schedulers (e.g., Kubernetes and Kafka)

•           

Preferred Qualifications:

•            AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).

•            Experience with web delivery workflows

•            Experience developing Jenkins shared libraries.

•            Experience developing GitHub automations.

•            Experience deploying and operating geographically distributed, highly available services.

•            Experience with artifact repositories (e.g., Artifactory, ECR)

 

 


Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
