We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Lead to join our National Intelligence Program supporting the development, operations and maintenance, and modernization of a complex, hybrid on-premises and cloud enterprise IT environment.  As a Technical Lead, you will work to support program transitions and modernization efforts by providing leadership to a few agile integrated product teams consisting of DevSecOps Engineers, Cyber Security Engineers, Data Architects, System Administrators, Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Subject matter experts developing capabilities to include data visualization tools, cross domain capabilities, data ingestions, extraction, and modeling, multi-cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning implementation.  You will be a part of an agile, fast paced team focused on increasing data throughput, integrity, security, as well as availability of enterprise software solutions.  This position is in Chantilly, VA.

*This contract is expected to be awarded in early 2025.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Development: Support formulation and execution of a coherent infrastructure strategy, encompassing on-premises data centers and multi-cloud environments.

  • Architecture Design: Supporting design and implementation of robust infrastructure architectures, ensuring they meet current and anticipated business requirements.

  • Hybrid Integration: Support development of strategies for integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud services, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.

  • Technology Assessment: Assess and recommend new technologies or upgrades to existing infrastructure, based on cost-benefit analyses and business needs.

  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Support the establishment and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure infrastructure architecture adherence to compliance standards and best practices for both on-premises and cloud.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work with business and IT leaders to understand strategic business needs and translate them into actionable infrastructure initiatives.

  • Cost Management: Optimize infrastructure spending by leveraging cost-effective solutions without compromising on reliability or security.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to the infrastructure team, leading capacity planning, and ensuring skill development aligns with technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Engineering, or related technical field of study with a minimum of 12 years of experience (or Master's degree equivalent)

  • Proven experience designing and managing on-premise data center operations, including understanding of server hardware, storage systems, networking, and data center facilities.

  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including the design and deployment of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.

  • Solid experience with hybrid or multi-cloud integrations and cloud migration methodologies.

  • In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies and containerization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Expertise in enterprise network architecture design, including segmentation, load balancing, and network security.

  • Extensive experience with Agile software development, DevSecOps pipelines.

  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and IT infrastructure library (ITIL) practices.

  • Experience with automated configuration and deployment tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).

  • Understanding of modern security practices and how they are applied in both on-premises and cloud environments.

Desired:

  • Significant experience with distributed systems, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.), and integrating software with hardware and network components.

  • Expertise in system architecture, software design patterns, and large-scale system integration.

  • Hands-on experience with performance tuning, scalability, and optimizing software for reliability and efficiency in production environments.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing Apache Kafka-based solutions, including real-time data streaming, event-driven architectures, and message queuing systems.

  • Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, or VCP.

  • Experience with Technical Stack

  • Frontend: Angular, NGRX/Redux, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.

  • Backend: Node.js, PHP, RESTful APIs, Apache HTTP Server

  • Database: PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB.

  • DevOps: Docker, Cloud platform.

  • Learning Tech: SCORM, xAPI, cmi5.

  • Tools: Moodle, Big Blue Button, Rustici, IntelliBoard.
